Pros

Working at Altrium has been one of the best experiences in my career so far. The company has an exceptional work culture where people truly value collaboration, learning, and mutual respect. Everyone, from team members to leadership, is approachable and open to ideas and feedback. The work environment is very supportive. Whether you’re just starting or have years of experience, you’re encouraged to ask questions, try new things, and grow. We also get great exposure to how things work in Silicon Valley, including access to cutting-edge technology and modern engineering practices. It’s a great place if you want to stay current and sharp in your tech skills. Something that made a strong impression on me happened on my very first day at Altrium. The CEO told us that whether you’re an intern or the CEO, it doesn’t matter, everyone should be treated with the same respect, regardless of designation or seniority. What really counts here is the value of your ideas and your contributions. Hearing that from the top gave me a lot of confidence and showed me what kind of culture the company stands for. That message was later put to the test, and the company truly lived up to it. There was a situation where an intern faced some difficulties with a supervising associate lead who was playing a significant role. The supervisor’s behavior was not in line with the culture and values we follow at Altrium, and it became a stressful experience for the intern. When this was brought to the attention of the leadership team, they acted quickly and with full transparency. An inquiry was put in place, and soon after, the senior team member who had behaved inappropriately left the company. It showed clearly that no matter your role, if you go against the company’s culture or mistreat others, it will not be tolerated. I found this very reassuring because it shows that the leadership doesn’t just talk about values, they actually live by them.

Cons

Nothing significant, but the workload can be tough at times. However, I believe it’s within an acceptable level for the IT industry, especially when working with cutting-edge clients based in the US. The fast-paced environment can be demanding, but it’s also part of what makes the work exciting and rewarding. In fact, some of the tougher situations I faced helped me grow much faster than many of my peers in other organizations. It pushed me to develop not just technical skills, but also confidence and resilience.

Pros

- Great place to work in physically - Company prioritizes on employee satisfaction - General workload is manageable to a limited extent - Amenities and tech provided is supplementary

Cons

- Work often overtakes free time - Project deadlines are often postponed or shifted such that work is made to be more tense - When there is no work for AI members of the team, they are left to do nothing hence why it may not be ideal for an AI engineer

Pros

I had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented and supportive individuals on the junior and middle-level teams. They were collaborative, helpful, and truly the best part of my experience at the company.

Cons

During my time at the company, I faced several challenges that impacted my professional growth. Upper management regularly contacted employees late at night, on weekends, and even during approved vacations, showing a clear disregard for boundaries. Working hours were excessive, often starting around 8–9 AM and stretching into late evenings, with little consideration for work-life balance. Task planning was chaotic. Everything was labeled urgent, and we were often expected to handle multiple sprint cycles simultaneously, leading to confusion, inefficiency, and burnout. Recognition for good performance was minimal. Feedback focused primarily on what needed improvement, rarely acknowledging effort or success. More troubling was the internal culture survey, where employees were encouraged to submit only positive responses for the "Great Place to Work" certification—an obvious attempt to manipulate public perception rather than address internal issues. The People and Culture (HR) team enforced rigid, overly controlling policies that created a demoralizing environment. Many employees felt micromanaged and mistrusted, which only worsened morale. While the company may choose to respond defensively to this review, those who’ve experienced the culture firsthand will understand the reality. Defending themselves will not change the reality that there is no one to listen to the genuine concerns employees face. HR may acknowledge the problems, but they don’t take meaningful action to address them. The truth about the company’s culture is well known internally, and no external response can erase that.
