Pros

Income - ability to earn 7 figures (what you put in you get out) Autonomy - I'm in control of my schedule and who my prospects are Support - there is always someone available for business or life questions 24/7, some of my very best friends work here or have worked here in the past Flexibility - I'm a full time working mom of 3 kiddos under 4yrs old - it's great to plan my work around my life Renewals - do the work once and get paid on it for a lifetime Product - when "life happens" we are the good news people for so many families

Cons

You are your own boss - nothing is handed to you Commitment - when I first started, I worked most Saturdays & traveled to get better training as I was getting through the learning curve Flexibility - because you are not punching a clock -it's easy to get distracted from income earning activities (taking work days off, just because) Sales - it's a numbers game & when you're selling a product most ppl don't realize they need - you are going to see a lot of ppl until your pipeline/referrals stack up and your skills imporve

Pros

Culture and Atmosphere Training and Development Team building and Friendship Bettering yourself and improving your skills Uncapped potential Flexibility and Autonomy Truly making a difference Within ABG I have found a community of people who I want to be around because they push me to be better, to work harder, and to trust myself and my abilities. I never want to feel like I have nowhere else to go in a career, and because everyone else feels the same way here, we are all able to encourage one another to continue to strive, to hit your goals, and to achieve what you set out to do. More than anything, I appreciate getting to make a difference in others lives. I was the most jaded person about insurance before I came here - and honestly, I still am when it comes to traditional health insurance and the state of it currently - but I have seen these products; CancerCare, CardiaCare, InjurCare, IntensiveCare; provide for people when they had nothing else to fall back on. I am so grateful to be able to do my part to help others be prepared for the worst things that may happen.

Cons

(I wouldn't call these cons as much as struggles/difficulties) -You have to put in the hours at the beginning and really work to set good habits. 50 hour weeks should be expected for a few months. -Rejection. Like any sales job, you have to deal with people saying no - a lot. Some people deal with this more effectively with others, so you really have to be prepared and know how to cope with days of a lot of rejection, at least at the beginning. -The training is great and the team connection is so wonderful, but day to day, you are working alone. That is great for a lot of people, and it's especially great not to be held back from reaching your goals - but if you have never worked independently, it can be a real struggle to find that sweet spot and not get discouraged. You have to be intentional with the team and other reps to make sure you are staying connected and not isolating yourself once you are out there alone. -Financially, this is a great career, but of course some weeks are better than others; some months are better than others. You don't need to worry about going weeks or months without making money; that doesn't happen if you are actually going out and working each day. However, it is not a great career to start if you are currently living paycheck to paycheck. Some will have no problem getting started and doing well right away, but the hardest thing for me was the stress I had from worrying about bills since I didn't have much to fall back on. I survived and made it work, but it was not an idyllic situation, so I'd suggest that you have a couple months of expenses in savings just so the stress isn't there when it doesn't have to be.
