Pros
There are not pro's - do not be fooled by glowing reviews. AlphaSights actively encourages employees to post overly positive reviews...
Cons
I strongly wish that I could have the year I spent at AlphaSights back - it was a completely useless experience that didn't help my resume in the slightest. AlphaSights recruits graduates from top universities under the lie that they will be working a consulting-like position with autonomy, hiding the fact that graduates work a sales job that requires zero hard skills and solely involves cold-calling, cold-emailing, and basically harassing uninterested targets. AlphaSights has an extremely high turnover rate and the majority of the people I started with left within 10 months due to extreme dissatisfaction with the job and management. Employee compensation (and termination) is dictated by a point system over which employees have *zero* control because it relies solely on client actions and somehow doesn't take ANY employee contribution and work quality into account whatsoever. In my time at AlphaSights, my performance was judged on my "points" even though it had a strong *negative* mathematical correlation (-0.7) with my statistical output. Therefore, working hard won't help you in this job but luck will. Additionally, the young, inexperienced managers perpetuate a toxic culture that is upheld by a small group of senior management who have little to no regard for the young employees, who are constantly flowing in and out of the high-turnover company.
