- cares about profits, not the people who work there - recently made a ton of cuts, hiring freezes, work model changes, and other decisions that only seem to help the firm's bottom line at the expense of employee experience and trust - anti-anyone over the age of 25 - the company employs a large volume fresh out of college employees in the first role in their career. That being said, the office environment, policies, perks, events, caters to this group and this group only. If you are a parent, have a longer commute, or just value more WFH over a free snacks and a weekly happy hour, then AlphaSights is not the place for you. - blind leading the blind - a majority of leadership is born and bread AlphaSights employees, and many of these individuals don't have any actual experience or expertise in the positions they hold, and when AlphaSights actually decides to loosen the purse strings on an external hire, these individuals are widely ignored or disregarded. - rigidity - AlphaSights really backed themselves into a corner by trying to make every role at the firm have set remits and almost guaranteed promotion to that next stage given high-performance. But this means that many people get bored in the role because they mastered it much more quickly but cannot move up for 1+ years, or there is no room for negotiation with salary even if someone is performing better than another manager in the same position.
