AllianceMed purports to be a medical billing company, yet only about 5% of its total workforce has any medical billing experience. Of that 5%, only about 25% have anything even remotely resembling medical billing expertise.
This is a very disorganized and dysfunctional workplace. There is no recognizable short- or long-term operational plan. Each day is jam-packed from start to finish with knee-jerk, reactive behavior amongst departments which neither collaborate nor effectively communicate their actions or intentions. The India-based team means well, but it is woefully inadequate despite its best efforts. The palpable hatred the US folks hold for the India personnel is surprising, but understandable based upon the events surrounding the offshore team’s formation and the subsequent layoff of US employees.
Morale is low, and confusion is high. There is still a bit of the “good old boys” network present within the Executive ranks. Some of these Executives are profane and condescending, while others are sullen isolationists who prefer to be left alone, even when there are pressing business matters which require resolution.
