Pros
Alibaba believes in a long-term perspective that allows for succession planning. Therefore, they have strong business leadership taking over from previous generation for their businesses.
Cons
Alibaba left behind SCMP in this succession vision. The new CEO right now is either just destroying what the previous CEO is doing, or trying out stuff that the previous CEO already saw cannot work. The SCMP has been patiently waiting for Alibaba to see the mistake in appointment but so far no action. Lack leadership, lack understanding of the SCMP, lack skills except for push push push, and lack of respect for talent and the list goes on and on and on.
