Pros
The biggest pro about this company is its people. I have made many friends here and had an amazing support network around me by the time I left.
Cons
Aliaxis UK has potential but has no idea how to tap into it. There is a disproportionate number of directors and managers, several of whom are not qualified enough to be in their positions, dodge work and responsibility wherever possible, and are practically invisible to the wider business. There is a culture of micromanagement and bullying, by middle management especially, e.g., threatening team members with performance plans without evidence to increase their output, as well as knocking their confidence by highlighting their mistakes and belittling them in front of others. There is absolutely no such thing as retention here. You may be offered a decent wage when you first start, but then you will find that any salary review after is insultingly low. Managers are also not above making false promises, e.g., offering professional development support and then retracting it when it’s requested, or telling you there are opportunities for progression then admitting there is nowhere for you to move to. This certainly isn’t a company I would recommend working for, especially in the early years of your career.
