Interview process was great ! !

I went through the full hiring process with Alerus, including multiple interviews, background check, and credit check. After completing every step they requested, I received no updates, no timeline, and no closure. Weeks passed with no communication from HR, despite repeated attempts to get a simple status. The hiring process is extremely slow (6–8+ weeks), disorganized, and lacks basic professionalism. HR appears overwhelmed and unresponsive, and there is no structured process for keeping candidates informed. Even after completing sensitive checks, I was left completely in the dark. Based on my experience and what I’ve since learned from current and former employees, the internal culture seems to mirror the hiring process: overworked staff, high turnover, inconsistent communication, and long‑standing issues that leadership does not address. Candidates should be aware that the process is lengthy, unclear, and may end without any communication at all.
