Pros

I absolutely LOVE this job. I honestly think I could work here for this company the rest of my life and be happy. If you're someone who likes to keep to yourself, it's wonderful because there's no google hangouts or anything. Most communication is done through Skype, and unless you need to talk to someone for help - you don't have to. The schedule is flexible, but they need to fit you into where whatever project you're on needs you to be, but if you don't fit in one area, they'll move you to another no problem. I've only been here for about a month now, but everytime I've had any kind of weird circumstance come up - they've always gone out of their way to accommodate me by switching my schedule around or just taking me off the schedule. I look forward to work for the first time in my life. Plus, I get to work from the comfort of my own home? Awesome.

Cons

The pay rate is...okay. A lot of people on here are complaining about it - first off, the company is based in Canada. The Canadian dollar is dropping, so if you're here in the USA, obviously your pay rate is going to be a bit lower anyway. We're considered freelancers because we can't get the same employee benefits those in Canada get. You can't blame them for no benefits or anything when they can't do anything about it. AD is working on changing their payment stuff so it works a little better. You also get paid monthly, which sucks for the first month or so, but as soon as you get on your schedule it's fine.

Pros

- Distance Working from wherever you want - Partial flexibility regarding schedule (2 weeks before head) - Some clients are well-knows in the gaming industry (though the games are not)

Cons

- Among the employees, there is a distrust and discontentment. This for instance led to spontaneous terminations. Resulting, Alchemic Dream lost the project/client what again led to a tensed working environment. - For Alchemic Dream, Freelancer are seen as easily exchangeable, AD ends their contract within 1 week. After some months of initial training, this can be quite frustrating and created an environment of uncertainty. Especially for employees with family that have to rely on this job. - I heard from a colleague, that Alchemic Dream is unreliable towards payment and that for employees outside of Canada, it is hard to to claim due wages in the case of a dispute. - All communication and motivation within the team depends on Team Leader. But Alchemic Dream treats them bad.. e.g. regarding payment, AD holds back information what results in chaos, or replaced them without prior warning. - Payment is usually low, late, overtime hours are not paid, and wage increase had been promised at the beginning, but never mentioned again later.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Alchemic Dream’s entire structure is greatly dependent on working with freelancers. We consider all of our freelancers an important and indispensable part of the team, with some being on the team for over 7 years. Unlike other contracts, a typical freelance contract means that either party can terminate with 7 days notice. Our payment structure is in line with international standards so that our freelancers are paid within 15 working days of the submission of their monthly invoice. Often, this is why our payments may seem late, taking into account the processing times of international banking transactions. If overtime is officially requested and agreed upon ahead of time it is paid too. We are sorry that your time with us hasn’t been particularly pleasant and we do hope that your future endeavours have been what you were looking for. Best Regards, The AD Team
