Pros

I've worked with different people in local, state, and institutions of high education and made connections.

Cons

Frustrating and stressful job, it's either you sink or swim in hostile waters. Don't expect management's assistance from disrespectful or rude clients because they won't do anything for the employees.

Alamo Capital Response
3y
When you deal with a highly regulated industry it can be stressful because you are dealing with other people's money. Management at Alamo Capital addresses and assists with customer service issues when they arise. We continually take steps to insure our clients and employees are handled with the utmost dignity and respect and expect the same courtesy in return.

Pros

I have been working at Alamo Capital for quite some time now and I must say that it has been a wonderful experience. The company culture is vibrant and inclusive, which makes the work environment very pleasant. The management team is supportive and always willing to lend a listening ear and provide guidance when needed. The work-life balance is fantastic and we always have fun events to show employee appreciation. I truly appreciate the flexibility that the company provides. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a positive and fulfilling work experience.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind at the moment.

Pros

There is no ceiling. If you work hard and don't give up the opportunities are endless. The nature of the business weeds out the weak and I believe that the broker/dealer business isn't easy if it was easy everyone would do it. If a person can sell than this is the place to do it. They allow you to sell pretty much any type of investment product out there. They have given me the opportunity to get licensed in many different products and they even paid for it. The office is a fun and exciting place to work. I feel like I learn something new ever day here. If you are hungry to make a name for yourself than Alamo Capital is the place to hang your hat. Many benefits and they also contribute to my 401k. Considered one of the best firms on the west coast for municipal bonds in the country. I love working here and plan on staying here till I retire.

Cons

I find that a lot of people who don't make it in our office are people who expect to work very little and get paid a lot. Those people are annoying but it's the nature of the business to see if they can sink or swim. The sinkers are tough to deal with.
