Pros
Akzo Nobel has been a great place to work as a chemist. The research is interesting and fairly fast paced. They are very interested in making Akzo Nobel a great place to work with a focus on employee engagement and safety. Everything else is really dependent on the site you work at and your manager.
Cons
At the Cleveland OH site, there are a lot of employees that work for Akzo Nobel simply because of the former company ICI was bought. This leads to some confusion about processes and on-boarding as well as a lot of very bitter co-workers.
