Pros

The doctors are really nice, the people are friendly, and it's a pretty good app. Akira bills itself as the future of telemedicine, and it very well might be.... It will be interesting to see if it catches on in Canada, because it takes away a lot of the frustrations with our current healthcare system.

Cons

Best of luck getting compensation or legal documentation that you are owed from management. As I write this review, I am owed tens of thousands of dollars from Akira. I started working for the company 7 months ago, and in that entire time never received documentation from the CEO for stock options that were owed to me from the start of the second month. I asked 30+ times for these forms, and every single time I was fed was another excuse. In the 5 months of pleading and trying to get this compensation I got nothing. Expenses were always paid late, and I had to nag Dustin for weeks to get them... at times he won't even respond to messages from you, unless he needs something. I left the company a month ago, and this situation is still unfortunately dragging on. It’s really disappointing that things have come to this. I’ve never been compelled to write anything negative about a former employer, even if I felt that they wronged me in some way. I don’t like that I’m doing this, but hope it might be able to prevent a similar situation for others that won’t to stand up to management when they’re wronged.

CEO here. It would be inappropriate for me to discuss compensation issues on a public site like Glassdoor. I will merely say that this is not an accurate description of what actually happened , and that I have been more than happy to discuss this individual's concerns directly with them.

Pros

Culture that embrace employee diversity and people that are creative, driven and passionate about always evolving. Culture is very sales orientated and made for the competitive spirit. Teaches you a lot about running your own business.

Cons

Long hours like any other retailer. For employees looking for a very structured environment this is not the place for you. Evolving always on hand.
