Pros

If you're a white male they will love you. You will make lots of money. You fit what they want in a company. If you're a female forget working here. They are about promoting corporate dollars for their bloated management of white males who don't care about empowering women.

Cons

They don't empower women. They don't care or value a person. There is more to people than just viewing them as "cash cows". This company is Alaskan owned but the people who are management don't value hard workers. This company does not care about females or mothers. I worked extremely hard but this company did not care. I was pregnant and fired. Their reasoning was very shady and they did it by saying I only had 4 years experience instead of 5 years of required experience. They did not think a college degree mattered. They are full of men who hate women. They don't respect mothers and don't care about people. They don't value people. They only value money. The stress of getting fired because I was wrongfully fired due to being pregnant really made me ill and stressed. This company is evil.

Thank you for providing your feedback. We are disappointed to hear about your experience as this is not in line with the culture at Akima. Over 30% of our workforce is female, and we aim to celebrate the women who work day in and day out on our programs across the globe. For example, last year we launched an "Akima Women in Technology" campaign that featured over 10 employees who are on the front lines delivering great service and solutions to our federal customers. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. Please reach out to our HR Department at hrmanagers@akima.com.

Pros

Hard to say any if at all. I get a paycheck (that took months to be paid correctly)

Cons

No wage increase despite others making way over SCA limits, no adjustments for cost of living, same people recognized for doing bare minimum, insurance premiums are insane, no allowance for unpaid leave, PM totally unaware of what even happens on the contract, no one in upper management takes accountability for mistakes and contractors are blamed, many inadequate hires made just to have a warm body
