Hi,
I am the 'boss' who the reviewer says puts too much pressure on everyone. Guilty as charged.
However I find it hard to believe that you had no technical development. Here is a list of technologies that we introduced in the last two years
- Django/Python
- Laravel
- ReactJS
- Angular2
- Firebase
- Progress Web apps using Ionic2
- Tools like Celery and RabbitMQ for Queue management
- Use of AWS for all our hosting
- Use of caching tools like Redis and Varnish
- Use of Solr and ElasticSearch
And all of this has been introduced on live projects in the last two years. With so many new tools and technologies and a small team of 20+ developers, it is difficult to understand why you did not get a chance to work on any of these. You might want to consider why you were not given an opportunity to work on any of these while others were.
Also treating as slaves would mean having our team work long hours with little pay. We instead have pretty strict guidelines in place around not doing more than 10 hours in office in a day and any working Saturdays are compensated with a Comp off.
We are also a great paymaster and have our multiple of our team members seen their salaries go up by 2x in 2 years. Not what you would expect from someone who treat their team as 'Slaves'.
Clearly you had a rough time while with us and that is very much my failure. As we have grown from a team of 20 in July 15 to 40+ in December 2016, I have made hiring mistakes and hopefully have learnt from these mistakes.
While I cannot promise a Utopian workplace I do promise that disgruntled team members like you will be fewer and rarer in 2017.
Cheers.
