Pros
ASE does has a chill environment which is nice for me personally because it is way less stress than other manufacturers I have worked for. There is a lot of good people to learn from at the company. The projects are very hands-on and I have gained so much valuable experience working from project to project. There are different times of year where we have to put in more hours to hit a deadline to deliver a simulator. This is not every week but maybe a few times a year. I have "been taken care of" for my extra effort, which makes me feel appreciated. Throughout the year, we have company events to give back to the employees. This year, like every year I have been here, goes to a Tampa Bay Lightning game and puts us in a suite. Lots of fun and my wife and I enjoy it every time. The pay isn't much different from other companies I've interviewed with. It may be a little less than the 'big names' but I have found that the difference is made up in benefits.
Cons
There is a certain degree of "learning on the job" that is required for this job. However, I do wish there were more 'on-boarding' training to learn about the company and project workflow better. I figured it out after a few months, but I would have benefitted from a better system of training to get me up-to-speed faster.
