Cons

The budget never allotted enough for managers to effectively run business without working 6-7 days per week, oftentimes in one of the positions they managed. Managers have limited ability to order items that would enable them to perform day to day activities. Ordering silverware or glassware or dishes when needed would require multiple requests and explanations as to why, forcing staff to have to wash dishes or roll silverware in the middle of rushes (these are restaurants) Managers were on call at all times. Complaints to HR about leadership being degrading or abusive would never result in change. If staff called in sick, it would be met with disdain or rudeness from management. Time off requests were often ignored or treated as an option for managers to approve or deny. Company requires management to maintain equipment with no training or expertise, rather than paying for a professional company. The longer you’re here, the less money you’ll make. Pay increases are rare and minimal. There is no incentive to stay with this company long term. They do not appreciate longevity and would prefer to bring new people in at half the pay to save money. Upper leadership will give endless consideration and opportunity to male managers with no experience while disregarding the experience and abilities of female managers. This happened many times, while female managers were left to pick up the slack when the male managers failed. Which happens often.
