Pros
Great pay and benefits. Most hospital staff were friendly, understanding, and/or professional. The food was above par most of the time.
Cons
Lots of politics and favoritism. No discipline enacted unless (1) someone from outside the department complains or (2) management takes it personal (where they resort to unprofessional, childish tactics to retaliate against you). Very few policies, protocols, and procedures on important things which led to confusion on a regular basis. Minimal effort to make sure everyone is on the same page, especially with important issues. Management seems to only care about patient safety and patient care whenever it is convenient (eg: a regulatory authority is visiting to conduct evaluations). On a related note, there is one particular pharmacy staff member who has proven to be very dangerous to patient safety and patient care on many occasions since Day 1, yet very little has been done about them. Management has very limited involvement in everyday pharmacy affairs, mainly due to the very limited physical presence in the pharmacy. Overall accountability for mistakes (by both regular staff and management) is below par.
