In regards to feeling misled, I am truly sorry for that. We have a 3 step hiring process to avoid this from happening as much as possible. The preliminary, and 1st interview, is strictly to gauge first impressions and is a part of the screening process due to having a high level of applicants for the entry level position. If invited back for the 2nd round of interviews, we actually give candidates a chance to spend A FULL DAY on the job with one of our representatives so they can see, first hand, with no grey area, EXACTLY what a normal day would be like. To clarify- this isn’t door to door sales; we do business to business sales and marketing.
Compensation packages are offered based on a few factors, including background, experience level and how a candidate performs during the interview process. Because of this, there would not be a flat rate offered up front to any particular candidate, until the final interview with Management. Much like most sales and marketing positions, at least a portion of the position will be paid on performance through bonuses and commissions, (For the right candidates this is very motivating) and there is NO CAP on the income potential. New hires can start earning money from Day 1 on the job, it seems like there might have been confusion about the fact that employees’ do not receive their first PAYCHECK until 2 weeks after starting (like most positions).
