Pros
Compensation in the Roanoke region is top notch
Cons
The CEO team and the IT management group simply do not care about employees. They are (mistakenly) of the opinion that no matter how employees are treated, compensation will keep them from leaving. This company will suffer serious "brain drain" as a result if/when the economy turns around. There is no culture, there is no personality, there is no fun. Potential employees beware: HR will tell you anything to get you in the door - the stark, cold reality is that AAP is terrible place to work, with tremendous amounts of interdepartmental infighting and massive pissing contests on a daily basis. Politics supersede logic, and innovation is not welcome. Additionally, the IT department is stuck in the technological stone-age. IT is the business' beotch, and many (not all) of the department heads on the business side have their heads so far up their asses that it's no wonder the company is struggling financially. I have no vested interest in your well-being as an employee, but if you value your career AND your personal life, heed this advice: Walk away from the job offer. Find a better place to work - it shouldn't be very difficult.
