Pros
Adept is a very tight-knit company with a startup vibe. It's a great place to learn the business and the IT industry in Japan, and pick up the foundational skills to become a good recruiter in a tough market. The work/life balance is second to none, and is great for someone with a family. The bosses are pretty lenient/flexible in this area and will give you what you need. The atmosphere is pretty fun and competitive, and it's easy to form strong, lasting relationships. There is a lot of potential to be successful and make a lot of money, but it's all up to you.
Cons
Adept is a system that either works for you or it doesn't. Don't expect much training or guidance, and if you're the type of person who does well in a structured system, then this isn't for you. If you're a hard worker who is able to tune things out and focus entirely on the job, you can do very well. If not, you will end up being discouraged. Finally, for a recruiting company focused on IT startups, there is a surprising amount of foot-dragging when it comes to embracing technology and new methods. The core of the business still works, but it could be so much better and more efficient if they invested in newer tools and techniques.
