Pros

They work with your schedule

Cons

Extremely difficult population to work with. They think because they pay $100k a year to live there that you become their slave or something like that. The families are unrealistic about the care wanted and management caters towards that mentality no matter how short staffed we are. We can get in trouble for any little mistake we make just because families or residents think that their needs must be attended as soon as they put their call light on. I understand that you pay for a service, but this is not a 1to1 care. We have others that are more dependent or that may need immediate care due to their condition. However, most of the residents and their families do not understand that, and they raise hell if their demands are not met not matter what. The pay is rediculous! $9.75 starting out for CNAs that usually have 12 to 14 residents. The job is tough, both mentally and physically. I do not recommend it to anyone, unless you really need something flexible.
