Pros

Bring your dog to the office. Free snacks. Competitive compensation.

Cons

Leadership is authoritarian. They make it difficult to discern if they are pathological liars, completely incompetent, or simply senile. The lack of transparency and punishment of candor damages morale and destroys any remaining sense of psychological safety at Ad Astra. Career growth and personal development are at the bottom of the endless list of priorities - your skills will stagnate and deteriorate during your stay, which makes it difficult to find employment after your turn for turnover.

Pros

If you like to work in-office, Ad Astra is trending toward full-time RTO

Cons

“We’re a family” in practice means leadership positions itself above employees rather than alongside them. The organization is extremely top-heavy: there are multiple VPs with only 1–3 employees rolling up to them, and 7 C-level executives for a company of roughly 120 people. Senior leadership leaves the building for all-day, often multi-day, offsite meetings - every two weeks. When they return, strategic direction often shifts. Despite being a 25-year-old software company, the organization operates with the volatility of an early-stage startup. This lack of consistency from leadership is directly reflected in the quality of the products.
