Pros
Starting a new job is not easy. Everything is new and you don't know anyone. You have to stretch your comfort zone and you never really know what you're walking into in terms of culture, expectations etc. Acuva gave me the best onboarding experience I've ever had. My first week was booked solid with back to back meetings with various executives and managers from all departments so I could get a 360 degree perspective. I also got to keep my phone and have my choice of hardware. I went with a Mac laptop. Besides the best onboarding experience, the CEO (Manoj Singh) is the real reason why I chose to work at Acuva. He is a true visionary and knows how to raise capital. He is flexible with work/family situations and encourages a collaborative and respectful work culture. Manoj is also a man of his word. He said during my interview process that he hired a consultant to help recommend salary adjustments so that everyone would be in the middle/high range for their role and location. The salary adjustments are now in place and retroactive from Jan 1, 2021. Thanks Manoj ;-)
Cons
Acuva is a small company so don't expect the same perks you might get at a large company like 4 weeks vacation or 6% RRSP matching. There are however stock options and annual performance bonuses which has offset some of these things. Acuva is also not for you if you're only looking for a 9-5. Acuva is fast paced and moves at light speed. The upside is decisions also get made fast. Depending on your role and location you may be expected to take calls outside of regular hours to accommodate Europe and Asia. Sales expectations are also very high but what CEO doesn't expect the best output from his staff.
