Pros
Easy to get hired and supportive friend.
Cons
The role came with several challenges, including close management, low compensation, unclear task expectations, and demanding working hours. The expectations were high, but communication and support were often lacking. It was difficult to get timely responses or clarification, especially when guidance was needed to complete tasks properly. At times, instructions could also change very quickly; a task would be requested with one brief, then a few minutes later, the direction or expectation would change. This made it difficult to complete work confidently, especially when the guidance was not consistent from the beginning. The training process also felt uncalibrated. The trainers’ expectations were not always aligned with the lead’s expectations, so trainees could receive one set of guidance during training and then be evaluated against something different afterward. This was sometimes treated as if the trainee had failed to absorb the information, when in reality, the expectations were either different, unclear, or had not been discussed during training. As a result, mistakes could happen due to unclear direction, but the accountability still fell on the employee, which made the work environment feel more stressful and difficult to sustain long-term.
