Pros

-Upper level management is approachable and incredibly nice. Within the office there is no separation from senior staff and an average employee. They are not hid away in a board room somewhere. This provides a feeling of openness and no divide between leadership and employee. -Benefits are standard for what the government requires -People from all over the world, many languages spoken and almost always the people hired are upbeat, positive and nice.

Cons

-Very high turnover rate specifically in IT and Customer service departments. -Serious lack of training within all departments. No onboarding process. This is a unique company with a niche insurance product, an overview of how it all works would be beneficial to anyone but for some reason the company can't provide. -No documentation of processes, procedures and methods. This roles over into major issues with the lack of training. -Internal hiring is strange. I like the hiring of internal candidates but the hiring usually means someone with an unqualified background is in a role they know nothing about. -No one has any actual idea what they're doing. -No upwards mobility. Often employees cross train into new positions that are sold as an upgrade. In someways they may be but the reality is it's a small company, you can only go so far. -Change is incredibly slow despite being a small company Acquis is ran like a mom and pop convenience store. A core group of people know what to do and whats going on but the reality is with a lack of any serious onboarding program and documentation newcomers are often left to fend for themselves and usually end up leaving. Most people have no idea what they're actually doing. Issues became much more apparent when glaring problems had to actually be dealt with after a major acquisition.

Pros

- Excellent company culture that even upper management partake in and enjoy, creates such a nice welcoming environment and makes for a genuinely pleasant working environment - flexibility to work hybrid and generally (manager dependant) flexibility around real life appointments (medical, dental etc) - opportunities to get exposure to other parts of the business and potentially to move teams etc - a few perks beyond the standard (eg medical insurance)

Cons

- not a lot of room for upwards progression due to flat corporate structure and small company size, therefore also limited salary growth. Lots of praise etc around performance bonus but consistent efforts are not necessarily reflected by pay rises (beyond the annual inflationary one) which can make wages uncompetitive relatively quickly. - no clear progression/pay scale. There are set annual goals, but other companies tend to also use grades or levels to reflect experience in a standardised way, here it's pretty much if your manager believes you're experienced then that's great but if not then you're limited and the lack of transparency makes it hard to argue your case without being dismissed relatively quickly.

Pros

The company itself is good, there are nice events, both in office and outside of office, good benefits, and the office is nice.

Cons

However, Operations is a greatly undervalued position by the company. Although we take part in key Operations, the rest of the company does not appreciate it, or see us as remotely as good as them. There is a clear division of hierarchy, in which people believe we are stupid, despite all Operations advisors being multilingual and educated. There is a lot of pressure for getting things done quick, and we often end up overwhelmed. There is no time for development and training in Operations. Hence, we had a lot of people leave the past few months, even those who worked there for many years, as things have been changing for the worse.
