Part time great, full time not so much - Mental Health Clinician AbleTo Employee Review

Pros

Part time was great. Super flexible hours and you can build your schedule. California is in such need of services, that you always have work. For part time side hustle, it was awesome. Clients “participants” are wonderful humans who want help and support. It’s so rewarding to work with people who want help.

Cons

Full time blows. Absolutely no flexibility. Even though you’re salaried you cannot adjust your hours on various days. Therefore, no work life balance, which one of the main reasons I chose a WTH option. Also some supervisors are great. Others are not so great. Micromanage numbers for their data report and give 0 care for you or your clients. Some of the managers need to have additional course work on effective communication because it is sorely lacking. AbleTo is competing with many other remote therapy companies and their low pay, poor management, and lack of flexibility will continue to impact staff turn over. This job feel like churn and burn. Care more about the data than improving qualities of lives of people who are struggling. Providing therapy is taxing. Support your therapist and their well being with decent management. We don’t want free water bottles or a backpack. We want increased pay, flexibility, and management that is supportive.

Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback about your experience as an AbleTo Therapist. It is a valuable resource in helping us to grow and continue to best support our provider community, and the participants that we serve. As you pointed out, our participants are wonderful and our highest priority will always be to ensure they are receiving the highest quality of care and the best overall experience. We are sorry to hear that your experience as a full-time employed Program Therapist has not been positive. We launched the full-time Program Therapist team less than a year ago and have continued to evolve the role and related expectations. We are a "learning organization" and are committed to learning from our Therapists about what is working and what is not working about the role. We have set hours of availability expectations for our full-time Program Therapists to ensure that our participants across the country have timely access to high-quality care, and we recognize that this may be less flexible than what you were used to as a part-time contracted therapist. We value your feedback and would appreciate learning how to create a more positive and rewarding experience for our Program Therapist employee team. In that spirit, I'd like to learn more about your specific experience and welcome you to reach out to me directly, Anna Gerard, Director of Clinical Services at anna.gerard@ableto.com. I look forward to speaking to you.

Thanks for leaving a review! We agree that flexibility is a great part of working at AbleTo. Please note that our full-time Therapists are currently completing an average of 26 participant sessions per week, which is the established productivity target, and are meeting or exceeding our expectations for quality metrics. Additionally, all current therapists can work with their direct supervisor if they need support in this area. If this was not your experience, feel free to reach out to me at sarah.gaffey@ableto.com. Sincerely, Sarah Gaffey, VP Clinical Services
