Pros

Great product, i really developed affinity with it, apropriate functional training is given World class development methodology and processes Nice people, familiar environment Great professionals, gurus on the database A lot of opportunities for junior devs Good work/life balance Worldwide clients The company does not deserve what's happening

Cons

UI uses an outdated technology, hard to migrate, but the effort is being done Financially bankrupt, not their fault, it's a shame but the recovery plan is taking too long, a real investor is needed

Pros

Very interesting business area Product suite worldwide popularity Good and renowned client base Entrepreneurial mindset Founders do everything they can (clearly more than the average do) to keep the company running and have a strong belief they will find ways to overcome the roadblocks. Creative company in what regards product conceptualization and solving issues and crisis.

Cons

The more important downside is the lack of good management and development practices through out the company. Which is worsened by the majority of middle management not having the needed Software Product Development know-how and experience to let them make the right decisions and set the right directions. Task-force/crisis oriented management and management by fear. Change resistance. Organizational and process changes will only become a reality if decided and/or actively sponsored by the President. Outdated technology stack (Flash/AS2), architectural strategy (business logic in PL/SQL) and versioning processes.
