Pros

The pay seems great as a cashier and they offer good benefits.

Cons

I consider myself a hard worker. Within 2 months of being hired I was promoted to shift manager of a brand new store. That was when I started hating it. It is entirely normal for managers to work 8-12 hour shifts (sometimes 7 days a week for store managers) with no breaks. Even though my store manager knew we weren't taking breaks because of the workload we were encouraged to punch out while we worked through them, as not giving breaks is illegal. The workload was so much it was also common that we had to punch out at the end of our shift and then work off the clock to finish so we did not go over budget. The only people I met who did not have a problem with the workload were people who did not care if they got everything done well, or at all. The training is terrible, people from different stores all do things differently. Everyone cuts corners because the goals are so unrealistic that is the only way to get everything done. The staff is so small you are constantly picking up extra shifts to cover sick calls, etc. If you can deal with all of that and work your way up to Store Manager, that is as far as you can expect to go, all of the District Managers are kids straight out of college and everyone above them seemed to be from Europe. Staff are also treated as disposable with pads of applications always out to cover the high turnover rate.
