Remote work where you are treated like an adult - Communications AG1 Employee Review

Pros

A truly remote organisation that trusts you to get your work done and isn't constantly looking over your shoulder. Free world class products for personal use. Lots of interaction between departments so you feel like you're part of something bigger than just your role. Not having to be in an office between 9 and 5. Good staff culture and very friendly people. It pays well.

Cons

It is contract work so there are no additional staff benefits that come with being a full-time employee, the trade-off for me is totally worth it but this may be off-putting for some people.

Pros

A Message to Potential Hires: To those reading Glassdoor: read between the lines. Many negative reviews come from a place of resentment after a departure. AG1 is a place for those with a growth mindset. If you want mundane stability, look elsewhere. If you want to build and learn, this is the right "system" for you. Culture of Growth and High-Level Talent The People: You are surrounded by smart, capable individuals. The "humane" element of the culture is real—conversations with colleagues are grounded in empathy and authenticity, which is rare in a high-growth environment. Remote Flexibility: The WFH model is a massive win for quality of life. It trades "soul-sucking" commutes for high-output flexibility. Fail-Fast Mentality: The company genuinely embraces a "learn by doing" philosophy. If you’re a builder who likes to step out of your comfort zone, the tools and support are there for you to grow both professionally and personally. Leadership Support: Direct management (at the mid-level) is fantastic. There is a genuine investment in seeing employees succeed and providing the resources necessary to do the job well.

Cons

Growing Pains and Market Pressure Process Maturity: As the company scales, there is a clear "efficiency gap." Processes can feel immature or are not consistently followed across all departments, leading to unnecessary friction. Reactive Pace: The environment is fast-paced and can be highly reactive. The sense of urgency dictated by the market is constant, which may be overwhelming for those looking for a "stable, conveyor-belt" type of role. Top-Down Visibility: There can be a disconnect between top-level management and the daily reality of the workforce. While communication is frequent, the "ground-level" impact of certain decisions isn't always fully accounted for.

Pros

- Great brand from an external POV - A lot of ultra talented employees from the VP level on down - Fully remote

Cons

- C-suite that argues amongst themselves in front of teams and talks about each other behind their backs - CEO can't/won't make decisions or empower her teams to do so causing endless whiplash - CEO has zero relationship with anyone outside of her c-suite, no interest in the people doing the work - Constant lip-service about 'the work' and 'rigor' as if the 300 employees are simply input/output machines - No bonuses paid out for past 2 years (zero) - If you are external facing, you will need to be constantly recovering relationships, explaining away delays/indecision
