Pros
Good location, nice holiday parties.
Cons
A simple search on Glassdoor comparing the AACR's CEO approval rating (33%) with its competitor ASCO (91%) will tell you volumes. And if you review their work from home benefits they are light years ahead of the AACR with their policies. Its embarrassing to see how many of our leaders consistently ask "What's ASCO doing?", then try to mimic and fall up incredibly short. Simply stated, the AACR does not care about its employees and that is a direct reflection of its leadership and CEO. In the midst of Covid as the delta variant is going through nation, as cold and flu season is about to approach, as other more progressive companies decide that it's not worth it for their employees to come in until the following spring and summer. The AACR decides, hey, let's bring everyone back cause we value face to face collaboration. Let's talk about the employee feedback on this. No one at the company was asked how they felt about coming back, none! Instead it was done through proxy of the directors and if you've been at this company long enough it's filled with yes-men/women cronies who will say whatever the CEO wants to hear. We get a callous email about how our CEO listened to her directors to get a pulse of the company. Oh yea, we did get an employee survey through all of this and all it asked is "are you vaccinated?" that's it! They only care about their legal obligation. There was no, how would you feel about coming back? Do you have kids that are unvaccinated? There is absolutely no empathy or concern cause in the end the company just doesn't care.
