Pros

The warehouse hours. 6:30am - 4:30pm, Mon, Tues, and Thurs. and 6:30am - 6:30pm, Fri. Off Wed, Sat, Sun.

Cons

The place is PURE D HELL to work for. First, you have a COO who wants to micro manage every little detail you do. From where you park, all the way to how you take a crap in the toilet. But it gets to the nuts and bolts of the operation, he knows nothing. Then if things don't go his way, he doesn't fire you. He'll post your position on EVERY job site out there first. Then when he has someone hired, he still doesn't tell you. Next thing you know, some stranger is walking in saying he's the new warehouse mgr. You have a week to get out. This company is very sneaky and underhanded. They feed you lies, then all of a sudden, they go completely left of what they've been saying. Apparently, the COO was picked on as a kid. Must be the reason, why since Nov. of 2012 to Sept. 2013 they have gone thru 6 IT guys. And they weren't fired, they quit, or just decided not to come back. Something is wrong with that picture. They also go thru warehouse managers like tissue as well. This company is seriously lacking in the managerial dept. They also find stupid reasons to. Fire you. My situation is by far the most absurd. I was there for almost a year. I learned quite a bit. For the most part, I was the go to guy at my warehouse. Everyone was constanly calling me to find a part, show them how to do something on the computer, show what this part was, show then where that part went. I could hardly get any work done myself because every five minutes, someone is calling me. One day, my back is sore, I can hardly stand, I call in for that day. They wait a whole week later to tell me that when I called in, my car was spotted sitting on a McDonald's lot near the job.. So they have to let me go. Car was at home all day. No one used it. Have absolutely NO OTHER BUSINESS in the area around the job site EXCEPT to go to work. But, no warning, no write up, just termination. Guess I wasn't shucking and jiving enough for them.

Pros

Pros – Decent pay Good benefits Nice Hours GREAT HR dept that goes above and beyond!

Cons

I worked at A-tech full-time for more than a year Cons – No Overtime Micromanagement Throat Cutting/Backstabbing Dishonesty No place to advance I was one of the original people who was first hired. In that time I saw this company go through 2 managers,6 IT guys, 3 floor people including myself. I watched as we started out strong and the work was hard but manageable and could even be fun at times. When I started I helped build the inside of the facility. We all built it. Then the COO came and started throwing his weight around. Then it all went downhill. While I get he is the COO, he wanted things done to the building that would have got us shut down for a number of code violations. We were already 3 weeks behind schedule. The COO felt that the building should be an exact copy of other A-tech sites that catered to totally different clientele. A direct copy in terms of layout, business operations, design, functionality, etc, etc, etc despite the fact we had an ENTIRELY different customer base with different wants and needs from us as a company. It was basically asking us to sell snow cones in the north pole and wool sweaters in the desert. Everything started to slowly but surely become micromanaged. At one point while I was there we were to stop putting thing on skids in the trucks for delivery all in the name of saving space. I guess 3 inches of space is worth angry customers and lost business. I have been in logistics for over 10 years and I can tell you not ONE of the companies I worked for or customers alike would EVER accept product not on a skid/pallet. We even had customers who were large clients threaten to drop us if we continued the practice of such. Then the firings came. The first boss who I started with was thrown under the bus completely by having his job posted on every job board you can think. Later on the soon to be new guy comes in basically saying you got a week to get packed and get out. Later on that same manager who replaced the first manager got shafted the same way. His job was posted for up for God and country to see and when we showed him he contacted the higher ups. They had the audacity to lie to his face saying it was a mistake and it was for another site. Funny it's for another site yet is specifically stated for the St.Louis branch. Finally I was let go/laid off due to low work volume. I find this odd that I was let go being the only experienced guy left that knew what I knew about the business operations. Funny this was all after I had a short stint with an illness. ALL documented. I had the most seniority of any general worker there and knew more as well. We all have weaknesses but for all my time there I never had any issues, reprimands, write ups, or conferences about my performances. NOTHING that would have or had ever gone into my permanent file. So for all my hard work and time put in there all I got was a shove out the door. Thanks. Final Word: It's sad that this was once the BEST JOB I ever worked at to being what it is. I actually now look at my departure as a blessing in disguise. A-tech is going to continue to implode and the crap will only get deeper to the point you won't have enough wings to stay above.
