Pros
No work load, no time compulsion. You can come anytime, do all sorts of activities and if time permits, work. Easiest way is to crib to your counterpart that there is too much load and the French person extends timelines. Strong financial backup from Dassult, so no worries even if there is a slowdown. In fact, you can expect handsome increment and bonus. Nice campus to hang around. Make a wish and they will provide you facilities you want (pool, gym, music, parties).
Cons
Few years back a rich French lady (Dassult) met a struggling Indian guy (Geometric). They got married and delivered a baby (3DPLM). This baby has inherited some virtues of mother and all vices of father. It’s an offshore development center (though they call it R&D Lab). Designations are hyped- CEO is actually Delivery Manager and Department Heads and not even Project Managers by their competence. Managers have not even matured to even Team Lead level. HR is there to manage Managers, don’t value general employees. Overall systems and processes do not give feel of a MNC. Company has lost focus as technology setup and has started a BPO. The events organized are mostly fun-n-frolic and are targeted to divert attention from career aspiration (since there is no career path). CONS: No growth for careerist people since long timers have already occupied important positions. Geometric as a Father is a big negative. Company does not know what it wants to do and is at primitive stage of automation. Hinjewadi itself is a minus considering traffic in Pune and it’s remote location.
