Pros
interesting projects, cool clients for the resume/portfolio
Cons
This company is the perfect example of overselling what's on the box. You are promised work life balance, great team and culture, exciting work, but all of it is a lie. Insurance is priced atrociously high (over $500 per paycheck for insurance with a family!). They advertise unlimited PTO but when you use any time you will instantly fall behind and get shunned by management. They advertised work from home but continuously bullied us into the office. Leadership is incredibly incompetent and the CEO restructures the company every 6 months. They are doing a hard AI push right now, but it's slowing EVERYTHING down. They laid off people every single year and last year they even laid off 20 people! And all of that work fell to us with no chance of getting a bonus or raise to "compensate" for the loss of hands. They take advantage of the fact that people are struggling and offer below market rates. One year for Halloween the CEO dressed up as a "unscoped project" to make fun of the fact that he continuously pushed the sales team to sell without defining what was being sold. It felt like a slap to the face to us that worked over 60 hours a week getting these things built. The team trauma bonding is very strong so you get close to everyone really fast but all we talk about is how much the work sucks. Our best team members are quitting left and right. I'm glad I got out, but feel bad for leaving friends behind.
