Pros

-be a part of something that is truly category defining -real start up experience: lots of moving parts and missions, have to put in extra hours but the problems are very challenging and interesting -leadership does a great job of setting direction and listening to the market. -They really care about creating a good culture and they work hard to address negative experiences.

Cons

Really fast paced and sometimes felt like we changed direction too quickly. It was not always clear what the underlying reasons were for some decisions- not all the context is shared. Could be a feature of start up life. Industry is difficult to sell technology into. May be a risk for scaling the company. There’s a big market, so still possible to grow. Company downsized twice so morale was not great. That said, received extended benefits and severance pay.

Pros

• 1build pushes its product to be better and continues to explore various possibilities it can be useful and meaningful to various groups. • Great place to work for - everyone I've interacted with has been nice, friendly, and professional. • 100% remote • Flexible PTO - working remotely, I thought I didn't need to take time off anymore but I was wrong. I've learned to take better care of myself and 1build supports my being away for a bit. • There is trust and a sense of appreciation in the (employer-employee) relationship.

Cons

• Very broad range of customers, specialties, and sub-specialties within the construction industry making it a challenge to find the ideal customer.

Pros

Customer-first organization - Deep passion for helping customers and solving chronic problems. Uncompromising in this sense. Right type of innovation - Using technology to change fundamental problems in the construction industry. Not point solutions, not innovation theater. Team culture - Not a 'go fast and break stuff' but 'go fast and build the right stuff'. Diverse team, many different backgrounds, but more importantly supportive across the board.

Cons

100% Remote - On one hand a huge advantage, but it does come with certain challenges to connect with colleagues and customers. It does tend to spawn a few too many meetings which can be challenging to accommodate. In the same sense, having a team spread across the US (and overseas) can lead to some extended working hours at times, but never pressure to be on at all hours of the day or anything.
