Pros
The previous CTO who has left the company was pretty good.
Cons
The CEO is very dishonest. It was agreed before signing the contract that flexible working hours is allowed. A week after joining the company the CEO suddenly required the developers to start from exactly 8:30am and finish no later than 5pm (even if the contract states that 37.5 working hours per week). When the developers discuss with the CEO to work flexible hours in order to avoid traffic. She said the developers can stay in the office to work late so they can avoid traffic. I have never seen that developers are not allowed to work flexible hours during my past 7 years experience. The company's policy is that you need to let everyone know if you need to leave work for more than 15 mins, including any break, lunch time etc. If you don't reply the new CTO or the CEO's message in 5 mins, they will ask you 'are you there?' The new CTO who just came to this company hires India remote developers without doing proper interview. The CTO and the CEO pushes developers to work longer hours. The company has a lot of Philippines remote developers to reduce cost so there code is horrible. The CEO is very rude to the developers. There was one time she was screeming to the remote developer... This is not the right company for experienced and well-settled developers. It might be suitable for people who just come to NZ and do not have much choice of jobs. The CEO can be very rude and pushing. Before signing the contract, please be careful about anything the CEO promises as she is not very consistent(honest). Low pay. No benefit.
