Pros
As someone who has worked at this company for 5+ years in multiple different roles, there is a lot to speak on about this company. There are so many great individuals inside of corporate 1-800 Contacts/Seekwell and the opportunity for building some great relationships. There are pockets of the company that provide a great culture and a strong ability for teamwork and collaboration that leave you feeling fulfilled and motivated for the next thing to come. The benefits are unmatched and are one of the greatest you will find in the Salt Lake area that offer hybrid/work from home schedules. Allowing yourself momentum for growth and networking will benefit you greatly and will get your career moving when being freshly started and motivated.
Cons
With the pockets of teams in the company creating a strong culture and collaborative environment, there also comes the bigger pockets of those who will continually manipulate and negatively influence the culture at 1-800 Contacts/SeekWell and cause a lot of unhappiness in the job. This will feed into issues like unnecessary steps for chain of command, empty promises of improvement and even growth, continual rejection to new ideas at approach, but mostly the ability to make you feel important enough to stay complacent with no desire to allow your ideas or abilities to feed into their way of doing things. To put it simply, they will try to make you feel important enough to keep you hanging around until you find you are complacent. Being real, if you are looking for a call center job here, you can’t expect the world of this company to pay you a high range of money. Personally, that is not something you could find at any company if you are choosing to go into that type of role. (Coming from a former sales agent) For those that are salaried, established careered individuals with a role in mind and seeking, look at this company as a stepping stone and not a job to settle down into. At the end of the day, it is something to help you make the money and work towards your next career goal.
