Pros

Global cross-functional team working on diverse set of business challenges that is rooted in software delivery ethos. Genuinely adept, kindhearted folks from varied cultures and backgrounds at the practitioner level. Corporate responsibility to geopolitical events is noteworthy for its clarity and integrity.

Cons

Massively distributed talent base ultimately controlled by account managers who have insane amounts of control over more experienced practitioners. Lots of communication yet everything is opaque to most employees. Highly siloed and cliquish. Senior management is well-intentioned but not addressing structural issues which is leading to a focus on shiny-object syndrome versus deliver excellence. Struggles to take cross-functional integration seriously which puts downward pressure on practitioners to manufacture opportunities with zero authority and minimal agency which works exceptionally well for a handful of folks who’ve been there for a long time or have plum positions that they protect viciously. Project work is often never aligned to skill set as much as who likes you or does not. Career development is an afterthought, especially for more specialized or senior folks. Pay and benefits are average. Layoffs happen suddenly and quietly with no warning yet aren’t fully acknowledged by the business internally or externally. This undermines senior leadership accomplishments and furthers a cultural mindset of mistrust and scarcity.

Pros

Offered good salary but what you will do with these salary if they fired you. Obviously Epam global is a good company but India branch came as acquisition so don't extrapolate global reputation with india branch.

Cons

Earlier when it was Alliance Global Service it was a nice company. After acquisition Firing rate is very very high. They are Firing without any basis. They firied all the fresher in a single shot which is really shocking for the India software market. Don't join. If decide to join then kindly get in touch with atleast one current employee.

Pros

Most popular one that people are keep noticing is presence of smart people, but to be fair most likely you will be working with very few EPAM colleagues onsite with client FTEs. And usually clients are hiring EPAM for projects that are deadly behind timelines or team is weak to deliver in time, so you will be working within such incompetent team or under pressure.

Cons

I've being employed with EPAM for few years and for whole this period I don't have a feeling that EPAM is my employer, but rather client which I worked for, because: - my EPAM manager is not interested in my career growth; career development plan? No, it's not about us :) Even casual 1-1 with manager practice is missing; - company is not investing in employees education (training, conferences), but client does; people usually sent to conferences on client cost (even though we are vendor to them), EPAM is not participating at all; Key point: if you are on L-visa get ready to be undercompensated w/o ability to change a thing (except returning back to country you originally came form). You will hear from your manager every other day phrases like - I'm making everything possible to get you appropriate compensation. But then it's end up being just words. And this perfectly explains why attrition rate of people who got their Green cards is ~100%. Also worth to mention that EPAM with Fragomen (lawyers company) will do everything possible to process your Green card application as long as possible. As an example, EPAM can spend month(s) for preping employment verification letter or getting signature from manager that sits next to you. Or Fragomen can make 20+ mistakes in your application forms and then spent enormous amount of time to fix those (lucky you if you found those, some of them non-trivial at all). Another interesting point that most of employees are on L-visa, just very few got their Green cards. These are mostly managers who either built good career in EPAM and don’t want to change a thing or simply can't get better job offer. Those who are on H1B don't stay long - great opportunity to fool EPAM and utilize relocation package in full and leave after couple of months.
