The place where employees are devalued, reduced to mere numbers

Pros

I'm paying my bills and I am employed

Cons

ELMO Software, following its private acquisition, has transformed into a place where employees are devalued, reduced to mere numbers, and subjected to relentless cost-cutting measures. Promised bonuses go unpaid, tools necessary for tasks are insufficient, and the company's lack of a genuine HR culture is glaringly evident. This HR software company's top-down decision-making is seemingly detached from the consequences it inflicts on both employees and clients. As the market remains unfavorable, I find myself trapped in a regrettable career decision that I would strongly advise against making. Additionally, the erosion of employee morale and motivation within ELMO Software has been alarming. The once-vibrant and collaborative atmosphere has given way to a sense of disillusionment and frustration. As a result, productivity has suffered, and the talent that once thrived here is now seeking opportunities elsewhere. It's disheartening to witness the decline of a company that once held so much potential.

A sad state of affairs

Pros

Peers and line manager great, real feel of being in the trenches together

Cons

From what was once a great company to work for who valued their employees, ELMO has spiralled into a culture-less and unpleasant place to work. There is a constant fear of wondering when you will be made redundant, even though exec team promised there would be no more after the first round. The removal of actual flexible working and wellness days is causing burnout left, right and centre. Zero diversity at exec level, frat boys and white middle aged men only after they strategically removed our female CHRO. Having integrity as a core value is a joke, that continually gets called into question by the actions of the exec. CEO will do interviews with media stressing the importance of employee wellbeing, feedback, flexibility but does not apply these to the company. How can we be taken seriously in the industry when we do not practice what we preach?

Pros

Smart, generous and knowledgeable lower level staff. Workforce as a whole learns quickly and are happy to share knowledge. Supportive and keen to help you grow. Fast pace environment, pro change and pro giving things ago.

Cons

Cut throat upper management, communication always delivered after the fact. Cloak and dagger type leadership, and dont seem to understand or value the amazing culture at the bottom.
