Organization is top-heavy with poor executive leadership

Pros

- Valuable mission - A lot of staff who are passionate about the mission and a pleasure to work with - Professional development opportunities, such as Lean Six Sigma training - If you work for a team with a strong leader who promotes work/life balance, then you can get paid lunch hours (7-hour workdays) and flexible work schedules

Cons

- Organization is top-heavy -Unstable financial situation - Your experience as an employee is vastly different depending on your direct manager, as well as the executive(s) who oversee your department. So, if you are interviewing here, make sure you have a good sense of the department's work environment. - A few former executives who were absolutely fantastic recently left ECRI. Unfortunately, most of the executives who are left behind are out of touch with the organization and have unrealistic performance metrics/expectations. - Lack of work/life balance - Since 2020, the organization has been restructured multiple times

Pros

—Senior leadership is finally bringing ECRI into the 21st century with its aggressive business strategy and focus on technology —Finally knocking the old building down and putting up a new one —100% remote work allowed (even after the new building is ready) but not required —Lots of good, smart people to work with

Cons

—Moving toward becoming a matrixed organization, which creates all sorts of confusion and inefficiencies —General lack of transparency from senior leadership —Senior leadership's aggressive business strategy has alienated many long-time employees who have made ECRI what it is —Many long-time senior-level employees have already jumped ship or been forced out —Bloated C-Suite with additional highly paid but ineffectual C-level positions being created, it seems, every quarter

Pros

Flexible work schedule, good benefits, good sick time policy

Cons

Very isolating environment. People don't talk to each other. They don't try to be friendly. Very few windows. Poor management. Training is very poor. Managers are promoted but not taught how to manage people.
