Downsizing with bullying and harassment

Pros

Good salary package, family allowances and vacations

Cons

A planned downsizing which lead to an increase of bullying and harassment by Heads of Unit and Directors. Heavy micro-Management. With 15 years of professional experience in the field, my team lead use to dictate the emails I wrote. Bullying and harassment has been selected long time ago as the primary human resources plan to kick out people.

Bullying and controlling environment and lack of any development opportunities

Pros

Salary, allowances, plenty of holidays.

Cons

Such controlling managers and coordinators who are extremely busy, creating work out of the blue because they are never delivering on time and are always unavailable putting pressure on subordinates that then have to rush like crazy to deliver when these managers finally become available/give input. Managers are incapable of delegating, never sharing any information necessary for the work unless pressed. So much talk about wellbeing, but it is more than providing for standing tables, it is about giving trust to employees who are more than capable to do their work without having to wait for permission to breathe (almost), and to allow them to develop. Any slim possibilites for growth are stopped by these managers/team leaders/coordinators (on purpose?) fearing that their subordinates may become more knowledgeable if they are let in on the action by not sharing any info and keeping them busy stressing and rushing and doing without any time to actually think and develop. Many incidents of psychological harrassment not formally reported. People have been working so long in the organisation and are frustrated by the conditions but too fearful to leave and not find a good salary that they take it out on others. Even if these cases are reported, nothing happens as there is no possibility to terminate contracts unless a crime has been committed.

Pros

- protects health and environment - multicultural - good salaries - motivated colleagues

Cons

- managers mainly without experience of or training in management or HR management - 6 to 7 levels of hierarchy - always new project based on old fashioned ideas (effeiciency is the last), it disturbs the work
