Pros

The company has been undergoing a transition in management structure and overall, I feel the company is going in the right direction (slowly but surely). E Co. has already made a lot of progress over the past few years by putting in place basic policies (e.g., parental leave / pay policy), professional progression and training, management of team load, yearly company retreat, to name a few - these have been put in place as the company has grown and keeps growing. The company is quite 'family friendly' and allows flexibility to work around different schedules, and for me, there was always the support when it was very urgently needed. You are exposed to many opportunities to work on exciting and interesting projects around the world. There is usually space and time if you have an opinion or ideas on how E Co. works and could work better. The leadership team is made up of some talented and dedicated individuals, who I believe are working hard to make E Co. an excellent place to work.

Cons

The main issue was salary compensation and benefits compared to what is offered elsewhere, as well as a need for greater considerations for remote workers. As mentioned, progress is being made and the new management team, plus HR, are focused on making E Co. an exciting, interesting and fairer place to work - I'll be following closely to keep an eye on the progress.

Thank you for your thoughtful 5.0 review. It’s wonderful to hear that the passion and purpose of E Co. have been clear since your first day. We agree that remote work requires significant resilience. We are currently improving our SOPs to make digital collaboration more efficient and less taxing. Our leadership is committed to "walking the talk" on healthy remote habits as part of our 2026 coaching initiative.

Pros

Some excellent experts and some really nice people

Cons

The pay isn’t great and the job contracts can feel a bit shaky. Leadership could be more understanding and show more respect for consulting staff. They also tend to take on risky projects that drag out and end up backfiring.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate that you recognise the expertise of our team and the "nice people" who make up our culture - we agree that our colleagues are our greatest strength. We are an organisation Driven to solve the most complex challenges in climate finance. We don't view our projects as "risky," but rather as pioneering. Delivering Excellence in this sector often means navigating uncharted territory where timelines and outcomes are influenced by shifting government policies and global investment trends. We are proud to take on work that others might find too complex, because that is where we can be most Impactful. Operating at this level requires a specific type of commercial fluency. The development and climate space involves complex stakeholder processes and fluctuating timelines. This reality demands a team that is resilient, adaptable, and commercially minded. We are honest about the fact that this is a dynamic, project-based environment, not a static one. For those who thrive on agility and high-stakes problem solving, this is a place to grow rapidly. We are committed to building a Connected and Diverse team where every member is respected. We also believe that respect includes holding one another to high standards of delivery. We are constantly evolving our leadership approach to ensure we balance our drive for results with the Empathy required to support our staff through the pressures of high-level consulting. We wish you the best in your next steps. We care deeply about the culture we are building and the team that drives it. We actively invite any potential applicants to speak directly with our current staff to hear about their experiences firsthand and ask any questions they may have.

Thank you for the 4-star review and for being part of our London team. It’s great to hear that you find the projects exciting and the atmosphere cheerful - that 'collaborative spirit' is exactly what we strive to protect. On management and structural changes: We hear you. Growth often brings 'tricky challenges,' particularly as we move from a smaller, more informal setup to a more structured organisation. We are currently implementing our Role Framework and Performance management approach to address exactly what you’ve highlighted: providing more clarity on roles, decision-making paths, and accountability. Our goal is to ensure the structure supports your work rather than complicating it. On leadership support: As we transition to our new organisational structure, we are also investing in management training to ensure our leadership is equipped to guide the team through these changes with transparency and empathy. We want our Senior Consultants to feel empowered by the new structure, not restricted by it. On the road ahead: The 'exciting projects' we take on require a robust backbone. Since you are a current member of the team, your 'real-time' feedback is incredibly valuable. We’d love to hear your specific thoughts on which parts of the structure feel 'tricky' so we can refine them. Please feel free to reach out to HR or your manager; we are always open to a candid discussion to make E Co. even better.
