You do not want to work here

Pros

The only pros are the salary and benefits. They are the only reason to work here.

Cons

You will be treated like a thing and not a person. You will be mentally and emotionally abused by management. You will not be valued. You will be stressed and depressed every day that you work here. That is why the salary and benefits are so good. There is no other way to keep people due to the fact that the management believes employees are to be treated as children, locked down, and not allowed to think for themselves.

Bogged down with politics

Pros

The benefit package is good with a matching 401k and LGEERS program. You are given a choice of 3 levels of coverage for insurance.

Cons

Very difficult to get things accomplished because of the different levels politics involved. Some employees have become very complacent and are satisfied with how things are just because that's "how it's always been." Pay freeze that has been in effect for several years (except for County Manager who recently gave himself a raise) Advancement is all about "who you know" and if you are willing to play the political game.
