Pros

Friendly introduction to the company, some good benefits (Private Medical, Day of for Birthday, Volunteer Day...)

Cons

Dirty, untidy office, Constant turnover of staff (Longest service 1 year, shortest 12 weeks), Lack of direction or consistent leadership at branch level. No leadership whatsoever nationally. Top heavy sales environment with very few good delivery staff. Unpleasant, bullying senior managers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback; your comments are appreciated as our global HR teams are here to listen. We're keen to understand what's working well, as well as what areas need to be improved based on these experiences. Based on your feedback, there are plenty of opportunities to do things better! We want all our offices to be welcoming and professional, so "dirty and untidy" is not at all in line with our company standards. We have been in some of our sites for many years and some of our branches have relocated to new sites since your initial post. We'll keep posting pics of our work environments so you can each make your own judgments on whether this could be the right workplace and environment for you. This review outlines that longest service has been 1 year, but I'm genuinely unsure what this refers to. We have just celebrated a 30 year Drakeiversary (Drake anniversary) this year, and we have two more of these to celebrate in the next 18 months. I myself have just celebrated an 8 year Drakeiversary. We also have many "boomerang" employees within our Drake New Zealand team who have rejoined us after working in a different industry to gain additional skills, or taking time out to travel overseas. Staff retention is important to us, but we are not without staff turnover. We continue to perform better than our industry average in terms of employee turnover. We want to improve our turnover rates year on year and we have several ways that we're responding to this. We have recently reviewed our Top Performer Profiles and Job Profiles for key roles within our organisation to ensure we're focusing on the behaviours that will help people succeed within their roles. We're also using our Drake Accelerator onboarding programme with new hires, and we constantly gather feedback through new hire surveys, climate surveys and exit interviews, and collate and review trends to make better decisions. We also constantly gather customer feedback to ensure that our teams are working together to deliver measurable results for our clients and candidates. These surveys along with our performance review process provide important insights into our leadership team and collective employee experiences. It is a top priority for us to provide a safe working environment for all; we take our health and safety responsibilities extremely seriously. This year we do have a new General Manager at the helm, and we're embarking on lots of new initiatives to make this an even better place to work, as well as to grow our business into new markets. If you'd like to talk about any aspect of your feedback in more detail, I'd welcome the opportunity to speak to you Please contact me at Drake New Zealand Rebecca Clarke

Pros

Drake offer excellent training & Development opportunities and the incentives to perform is really good, e.g. Club 100, etc.

Cons

It may be the result of a typical female dominated industry, but there is a serious problem with Drake's organisational culture! Office politics are really unpleasant and I feel the business is putting too much effort and emphasis on productivity and performance and forget the most important aspect of their business, the people.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback; your comments are appreciated as our global HR teams are here to listen. We're keen to understand what's working well, as well as what areas need to be improved based on these experiences. You're right - people are any organisation's greatest investment and we really want to do better. We've just completed our annual employee experience survey, and Vanessa is collating the results right now. Mark will be sharing this info with our NZ team over the next fortnight, and it already appears there are many ideas and suggestions we can (and will) quickly implement. Productivity and performance is an important part of our culture at Drake, but equally we're focused on having the right people in the right jobs, loving what they do, and delivering measurable results for our customers (clients and candidates). Our operating philosophy is based on the principle that organisations achieve the highest level of performance when they are staffed with the right people, working with the right skills, knowledge and behaviours, using the best processes and technology-driven solutions, over an extended period of time. We want to invest further in training and development this year, and we have eight members of our New Zealand team heading to Monaco next month to attend our prestigious 100% Club event on the basis of their team achievement. Pros

Lots of freedom to shape your role the way you would like it to be. Easy to shine and be recognised ....to a degree

Cons

very hard to actually get things done. Company is locked into their own way of doing things and will not step into the unknown. Used to me a market leader but has lost all White Collar traction over the past 10 years and has sunk into a Blue Collar torpor. Used to be very open to work/life balance but all has changed and feels like you are punching a clock when you arrive and leave.
