Pros

my coworkers were great, but other than that, absolutely nothing.

Cons

WOW. This place is really a doozy, to say the least. First and foremost, you will not be working in an actual art studio, but rather you will be working in some rich woman's garage that has no windows or proper heat circulation with 6 other people. Putting aside how claustrophobia-inducing this "studio" is, the entire setup is a HUGE fire hazard. Secondly, I would get upwards of 20 to 30 emails a day about my schedule and was never given a clear idea about my tasks for the day simply because of the sheer amounts of emails I was getting. The frustrating part is that all of these communications could have been formulated into a few emails, but this company is unbearably disorganized and couldn't even do the bare minimum in regard to communication. Thirdly, people weren't getting properly paid or reimbursed. Every single person who has this job must get a background check, a covid test, and a TB test; sounds good and simple, right?? WRONG. You'd assume that your employer would reimburse you for the upwards of $300 you spent on all of these checkups and tests you needed to take to even be inside of the studio, but again you'd be wrong. At one point my coworkers and I were discussing our salaries and we all realized after a closer look at our time sheets that we weren't getting paid for our work; I was missing about $50, but one of my coworkers was missing closer to $600 from their paycheck. I received my last paycheck when I quit and that check bounced back. While I did contact my employer and gave her the benefit of the doubt on the situation (I did end up getting my check!!) her excuse for the mistake was unprofessional as all hell. Lastly, I think it's very important to acknowledge that this company is run by an obnoxiously rich and privileged white woman that preys on fairly young queer artists for their labor in order to sell boxes full of rope and sticks for $160. Not only is this company incredibly unethical, but their products are garbage.
