The people are smart, friendly, and encouraging, from top to bottom. Everyone works together as a team and is respectful of one another. Work life balance is great, it's not a sweat shop that feeds you breakfast, lunch and dinner and expects you to live there.
Double Fine is staffed by pretty much the best in the games industry. I've worked at a many game companies and Double Fine is one of if not the best one to work for. Not the insane "perks" to make up for long hours on a bad product, but the camaraderie that is long gone from the rest of the industry.
Cons
startup perks wouldn't be bad, but we're not going to make those kinds of games that trick their players and rake in the big bucks. For example, we don't have red bull in the fridge, but we don't have a psychiatrist on site to work on making or game have better hooks either. If you want to be evil look elsewhere.
