Pros

The benefits are decent and a computer is at least provided for remote work. My team and manager were hands down what kept me going. Good entry-level work if you are just starting out your work life/career.

Cons

I first joined dialogue as a full time permanent employee and my first disappointment was receiving a computer that was way too slow for the speed expectations of my job. From the leading health startup in canada that was kinda funny tbh. About 8 months into my employment at Dialogue i received a better computer ... in the mean time i had been using my personal computer to keep up with the demands of work. While i was a part-time employee, i had requested an hours increase about 2 months in advance which i had been told was a sufficient heads up for this type of request. I was double disappointed when i learned 2 months later that our team had an hours freeze even though we had slack channels applauding the new clients (e.g. a lot more work at service level) we were signing on WHILE also knowing that our teams were NOT able to fulfill all the admin duties and expectations with current staffing resources. That really felt like a slap in the face and i knew i was a GOOD team member. There has been a serious mistake and disconnect with adding on more work for the admin staff and not enough people to do this work. In the final months i stayed while looking for other opportunities, i was overwhelmed every time i worked. I am giving a one star review because when the company went public the boisterous behavior(on slack, on linkedin... you name it) was SO EXTRA while we were over-worked and under staffed at service level for this said amazing product and it felt like such a PR insult and fully DISHONEST. Some of the work flows are also way too over simplified for the hands on nature of medical admin work and as someone who worked in an in-person clinic before remote-digital clinic work, some of these flows just aint cutting it and require further scrutiny! However, i am afraid that the speed expectations of the work directly conflicts with the quality of admin work your staff CAN provide to your clients, if only that's what the company actually wanted -- i digress. There is a serious problem with making space for the workers to explain what service level feels like or simply for the people who make the decisions to think TWICE before execution. Last but not least, the insidious toxic positive culture at dialogue is so profound that i was GRATEFUL a peer vented to me one day because i had basically internalized that nothing can be bad about this company... to put it simply, that's not normal for a workplace and it says A LOT that i felt that way! Also i am not mentioning anything re: diversity because this feels like a dead end so anyway good luck with that! At first i wanted to stay at dialogue (left at 11 months) and they can thank the admin staff ALL THEY WANT but your team won't feel supported unless you provide them with material resources to do their work properly e.g. more staff, longer breaks/more frequent breaks/ more informal social events/ more time for their managers to check in etc. It really is NOT that complicated i can't believe we have the dichotomy of an amazing telemedicine app and a dysfunctional staffing/management issue.... how does that work???? Anyways, the above has been brought up in a hefty exit interview hopefully things change.

Thanks for sharing all of this valuable feedback and for also taking the time to connect with us before your departure. The 11 months that you spent with Dialogue certainly were among the most exciting and eventful of our history, but they were also some of the most challenging. We saw a rapid growth of our business, and each team and individual employee had an important role in our success - we hope that resonates for all, as our incredible care for Canadians is facilitated by the whole team, from the service and medical professionals, to the business support teams, and to those developing our technology. With this growth also came some growing pains, and the leadership team is always open to hearing from everyone. We offer different channels in which to do so, through our weekly All-Hands, Ask-me-Anything forums, weekly engagement surveys, etc., we will continue to improve and adjust if people feel their voices are not heard - and these changes sometimes take time. Thank you for your contributions over the past year and we wish you continued success.

Pros

the office location was nice

Cons

- It's clear the managers have zero management or leadership experience, they truly have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Concrete examples: - I didn't meet my direct supervisor until 3 weeks into my job, and I had to be the one to introduce myself to them. - Managers call you out directly in front of peers for mistakes and are not at all open to new ideas or employee feedback. - They would show up completely unprepared to employee evaluation meetings and provide no solutions or tools for improvement. - The leadership group was insanely ''cliquey'' with obvious favoritism leading to a toxic workplace and little respect from the rest of the employees. - They randomly fired multiple high-performing employees because they didn't conform to the tiny box that was set for them - no job security.

Pros

Great Salary Great Benefits Fun team to work with Amazing social activities (5@7, christmas party) Healthy snacks provided Great product that makes a real difference You can rely on the medical team to provide a great service to patient

Cons

You are not set up for success in this company. Managers will bully you instead of help you grow and coach you. They will agree on one thing then blame you for it. Don't work at Dialogue if your goal is to step up your game and learn and grow because this will not happen. Managers don't have time to help, they only have time to criticize. The expectations are extremely high, which is hard to reach and maintain with no support, no coaching and no guidance. Additionally, they keep changing their minds so you always have to start over. Being set up to fail is never a good feeling. Lenthy hiring process and in the end, the job you do is not the job you were hired for. Lack of accountability from the managers. They will criticize your work but won't admit their fault (lack of support, more guidance needed, etc). Lots of favoritism. If you are not part of the crowd, you will not succeed there Beware of all the promises during the hiring process. Its all pretty on paper, but highly toxic work environment. The management team don't have any experience in managing employees, and therefore, do not employ good HR practices This is not an inclusive and supportive work environment. You are not allowed to ask questions to other employees as it disrupts their workflow. No work-life balance and no flexibility. Overtime required on a daily basis but no compensation for it and working remotely is not permitted unless an exception is granted.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. It saddens me to read your review, as I wish we could have spoken about how you were feeling while you were with us. We care deeply about our employees and aspire to be a great place to work - one in which every employee is empowered to perform the best work of their lives. I am sorry that your experience fell short of that. As a high-performing and high-growth company, we set the bar high for ourselves, and everyone at Dialogue. We also work to put everything in place to help reach ambitious milestones. This is what allowed us to grow at an impressive speed in the last 3 years. Though the road is not always perfect, I believe our journey overall is a fun, challenging and rewarding adventure. As you know, many of the team members who joined the team in the early days are still working at Dialogue and building a platform that removes barriers to excellent care. I wish you the best in your next career endeavor. Please know that our door is always open. If you care to come back and discuss your feedback in person, I would be grateful.
