A great start that did not transform

Pros

Was an amazing start-up with true vision and ambition; it gave many people exposure, responsibilities and experience that would have taken many more years to acquire in other environments.

Cons

Scaling up has proved to be fatal in many respects (people, values, ambition), and little is left of the original dream. Textbook early success has been followed by textbook failure to grow sustainably and true to the original idea

Terrible management practices, great engineering teams

Pros

Before most of the software team left over a year, the technical side of things was great. You get to work on music-related products with passionate colleagues, which is a plus.

Cons

The current CTO is terrible and made 90% of the software team leave for other companies within a year. There is no career path as an individual contributor. There is no product team. The pay is _very_ low for what is asked; most employees are here because they are passionate about music. Management does not listen to feedback at best, and receives questions as challenges to authority. The hierarchy is extremely top-down.

Young and passionate colleagues. People made everything!

Cons

Big salary for top management and small salary for everyone else. Work more than 11 hours everyday but effort wasn’t recognised.
