Pros
The work DA does is really interesting. The firm is well-connected in the social impact / philanthropy sphere, and gets to do some projects that are unique and unlike many other consulting firms.
Cons
They pretend that they have a flat culture, but the reality is that it is as hierarchical as the worst-run nonprofits. Individuality and creativity are deprioritized in favor of assimilation. They do not prioritize growth, and do not even give raises except to very high performers (which is measured arbitrarily). This is a great place to go if you want your career to flatline or if you want to learn how to do things one specific way. The environment pretends to be kind but in actuality very low-trust. Also similar to nonprofits, DA suggests that they underpay individuals because of the opportunity to work in high-impact fields, but they still force team members to work consulting hours with consulting time and availability expectations.
