So many lay-offs, so little thought

Pros

Nice office, nice teammates and team lead. Wonderful people team, nice team building events. CSM team is wonderful (so underpaid for what they do).

Cons

Unachievable targets, no support from the 'captains' (founders). Whenever the captains come to visit the office, everyone just pretends to work. Partnerships is a joke. The company allocates so much spend into this team and to be honest, no one knows what they actually do. They work half days. Upper management/captains are being pushed by their investors to meet promises they made (targets) that are not realistic and they actually will never be able to meet. Sporadic and frequent layoffs with terrible packages. Outsourcing support and now onboarding to Mexico is an absolute disaster. How can we promise premium quality when we are about to lose our entire onboarding team? No thought went into this and the person headlining this has zero onboarding experience. Look at how it's going in Europe. The product team is supposed to do the heavy lifting with releases that never work. Sales, onboarding, finance and CSM are the brunt of this to keep pushing broken or non-existent product features. Incredibly low pay. They claim to be 'industry standard' yet average salaries for sales, implementation, onboarding and CSM are laughable. Some of my key peers have already left or have been laid off, sad to think that there will be a lot more going soon leaving a serious gap in business.

Pros

There are some amazing and friendly people, the product is quite good, there are lots of development activities and the training is pretty thorough (although sometimes not super relevant to your specific role).

Cons

I had really high hopes when I first joined - the company seemed like they were organized, had a solid go to market action plan, and had a strong management team. But the longer I worked there, the more I saw it wasn't everything it was cracked up to be. The most disappointing for me was management. I never felt fully supported - it seemed like managers were always working to appease higher-ups and kind of left their employees to sink or swim on their own. It felt like management was in over their heads and didn't have the experience necessary to handle the situation the company was in. It also seemed like the company was in a financially strong position, but out of nowhere there were a couple rounds of layoffs that left a really bad taste in everyone's mouth. Everyone I knew started looking for other jobs out of fear. They definitely have your average start-up growing pains, but the dysfunction felt like it ran way deeper. Proceed with extreme caution if you're thinking about joining - don't put your faith in what you're told because the only person who has your best interests at heart is yourself.

Pros

Nice people, WFH flexible (depending on your team), a good product, some good culture events.

Cons

When I started at Deliverect I loved it, the vibes were fun, people were excited, and this was clearly a company on the rise. They reached 1 billion in evaluation and we all got to go on a trip to Ibiza, it seemed like a company that was excelling. Only 7 months after that trip things started to change, there were round after round of layoffs, they got more strict with working in the office, everyone started watching their backs constantly. The worst part in my opinion is they give these weekly “we’re so great” speeches to a crowd of people that have been told they’ll lose their job within a few months, it’s so insulting. They relocated a tonne of jobs to Mexico City so they can pay less in salary, but they haven’t trained those new employees well so people in other offices are dealing with a tonne of complaints. They’re pushing all clients to self-onboarding, which, frankly, doesn’t work and then we’re not supposed to help those who can’t onboard themselves. I’m looking for a new job so I can get out before I get laid off, and I know a lot of other people who are doing so as well.
