FIRSTLY - I have it on good authority that the two (and only) 5 star ratings on Glassdoor, were written by senior mgmt. The talk of "opportunities coming the high work load" and "meritocracy" are pure Davy Mgmt speak. Whole lines even being lifted from in-house presentations I saw several times while there. No one, especially someone so low down the ladder in any organisation, gives their employer a 100% satisfaction score. A sign of the insidious nature of this arrogant company. There is no real management by the most senior figures, who find the day-to-day management beneath them. These tasks then get handed to an unofficial manager who uses this Power to promote his clique of favourites. Favourites which can change on a whim if they don't toe-the-line. Sexism is rife within the office, with women being underrepresented at the most senior levels. Mild flirting is important to keep senior people, who hold your progression in the balance, on side. A culture of "even MAN for HIMself" is encouraged. One-up-man-ship is the theme. Each success (minor or otherwise) is shamelessly used as a way of promoting yourself and each mistake of a colleague is used to undermine them, at times involving out-and -out sabotage where possible. Notions of "Collaboration" and "team" do not exist.
